Large castings of acrylic can be formed and shaped to give unusual and unique presentation. Various items can be embedded within the acrylic structure either as art forms or for archiving interest. Acrylic is a good external material for withstanding our varied and changing climate.

• The following is an example of an acrylic and stainless steel structure standing around three metres high. It gives the effect of a large ice block with "Z"s embedded inside and supporting a clock. It is the focus of attention found in the centre of a busy roundabout outside Portsmouth Naval Dockyard and was presented by Zurich Insurance to commemorate 25 years in partnership with the City of Portsmouth.
